Meet, Christie!

Christie grew up in Northern New Jersey, raised alongside her three siblings, by highly involved, loving, and devoted parents.

Realizing her affinity for children at a young age, Christie believes her patient and nurturing demeanor is due to the example set by her mother, who instilled a sense of security and unconditional love in her children, fostering a strong foundation of self-assurance and compassion.

Looking up to several hard-working, successful restauranteurs in her family, Christie took an interest in cooking early. She vividly remembers her father emphasizing the phrase “mise en place.” In a kitchen, it means a chef should have all of their ingredients and supplies prepared and organized before they begin. She hopes to impart the invaluable skill of organization on children, both in and out of the kitchen.

Having been involved in sports since the early age of 3 when she began ski racing, Christie excelled in soccer, basketball, and softball through high school and continues her athletic journey today through pickleball, tennis, and golf (in that order). She received her certification in personal training in 2012 and is considered an advanced pickleball player, competing at the 4.5 level. She appreciates the social nature of the sport and hopes to encourage more kids and young people on the North Fork to get involved by offering instruction for all ages and levels.

As a homeschooling mom of two with a unique skill set, Christie founded Le Yo Yo Kids to propel children on the North Fork towards healthy, fulfilling lives. She understands the importance of providing children with engaging and educational experiences that capture their attention through fun. She also believes access to a healthy lifestyle during childhood lays the groundwork for a lifetime of well-being. From physical and mental health to academic success and lifelong habits, the benefits are far-reaching and essential for children's overall development.
